Prairie Oysters Adventure Racing Team is comprised of Cat Horbatiuk, Jenn Holmes, Jennifer Smith and Mitch Grant. We're working hard to get our website up. So please check back soon for news, photos and events!

Cat Horbatiuk
Cat Horbatiuk is the youngest of sixteen siblings born in the wild and raised by wolves just north of the remote outpost known for centuries as Lakdebonny, Shortly after the colony was renamed Lac Du Bonnet Cat was taken-in by the Ukrainian Lumberjack/Electrician sect known as The Horbatiuks. From that point-on Cat began a long and often perilous journey back to humanity. Some of her fondest memories include running naked while hunting for deer, Canoeing with her father Laurie and Dominating the bike portion of Manitoba Duathlons and Triathlons. An avid cross-country and downhill mountain-biker Cat is currently a fixture on Gord's Bike Club Rides and recently returned from a life altering helicopter skiing trip in Panorama. Cat has always dreamed of doing adventure racing and her passion to not only compete but also to enjoy the ride is an inspiration to all who have had the privilege of running, riding, canoeing or skiing with her.

Mitch Grant
Mitch has always been someone who loves the outdoors. The Whiteshell Provincial Park is the place you will often find him training for a new challenge. From roller blading and running down the Inverness Falls road, biking down the Trans Canada trail, to portaging into one of the many secluded lakes, Mitch really appreciates the natural gym of the Canadian Shield.

When Cat approached Mitch to ask if he would be interested in forming an Adventure Racing Team, he jumped at the opportunity. Having three fit female teammates might have had some contribution to his enthusiastic decision!

Mitch is 32 years old and was born and raised in Winnipeg. He lived and worked in Europe for 5 years as a professional hockey player. He settled back in Winnipeg in 2002 and now works in Marketing with Brean Marketing Inc.
